Undeniably one of the dressiest pieces of all time, the Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 still remains close to the hearts of its wearers. After it was introduced in the early part of the 20th century, this series has since been in demand by its faithful followers and converts alike. The exquisite intricacy that is all too apparent in this piece makes it stand out from all other in its category.

Its dial is a superb example of craftsmanship. The satin-surface has the texture of an eggshell. It gives the perfect canvas for the Breguet-style makers. The thin and elegant lugs takes you back in time to the early days of the wristwatch. Pocket watches were basically converted to fit the wrist using soldered metal items as straps on both sides.

The wristwatch technology has gone a long way since then. Nevertheless, the Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 is a watch that one will surely want to have because its classic beauty is recognized by anyone anywhere. It is a fascinating link to history while it gives the wearer a sense of distinctiveness, elegance, and modernism at the same time.

Vacheron Constantin Minute Repeater

Posted by Dennis Ramillo on 31st July 2008

The Vacheron Constantin Minute Repeater is a testament to the belief that you don’t have to stand out above the crowd to be popular. It’s the model of simplicity. Sometimes, we can get away with judging something by its cover, so to speak. But there’s no getting away here. Don’t judge this watch by the way it looks.

This timepiece from Vacheron Constantin doesn’t need an overly eye-popping exterior because inside it lays a thing of beauty, the minute repeater. A minute repeater relays the time - the hour, quarter hour, and minutes - via tones produced by gongs inside the watch. It is a very complicated process requiring great skill and precision to design.

Although this watch doesn’t look as high profile as it is, it doesn’t mean it’s not pleasing to look at. The materials used are top-notch, and there’s a certain appeal to its simplicity, something mesmerizing and promising. Even the tones that repeat the time is subtle, like it’s begging not to be noticed. Perhaps it was designed to be admired only by its lucky owner who knows its true value; but then again, perhaps not. And while we ponder, we realize that this mystery also adds to the appeal of the Vacheron Constantin Minute Repeater.
